Wow. Randomly good night last night, at the end of far too many hours of running around.

[livejournal.com profile] mistresscarlett mentioned [livejournal.com profile] lychnobyte a few days ago, and after a few seconds of thought, I decided to join in the expedition. It was one of those nights - heavy, hot air, crackling with the potential for something to happen; moonlight bright enough to drown out the streetlights. Not a night for sleeping, indeed... good crowd, good mix of people, and running two dancefloors meant there was always something I felt like dancing to.

To the really familiar-looking person who talked to me just before I left: I'm really sorry, but I can't work out whether or not I know who you are ;) (my brain gets very fuzzy at 4am after a looong workday) If you happen to be one of the lurkers reading this, leave me a comment :) Sorry I wasn't very talkative - next time I'll try to be more polite, and actually introduce myself...

Other discoveries from the night:

Dandelion Wine sound great. Listening to one of their songs while watching some amazing bellydancing on the stage was even better. I want to see them live at the end of January... I want to track down missing muscle groups and figure out how on earth that bellydancing thing works. I have a feeling that I may need a belly for that, though, and acquiring one seems to be difficult. More donuts for me...

The glow-twirlers reminded me how long it's been since I got out my firesticks - at least a year now. I want to play with fire again this summer. I want to grow two more arms so I can do double staff and poi at the same time :) I need to find more twirlers, 'cause I ran out of motivation on my own. When I first started twirling I had short hair (!) - now it hangs below my waist, and I'm much more flammable. I'm still inspired, though - there were some very cool tricks on the stage last night. Browsing through [livejournal.com profile] pyronymphomania also helps in rekindling the old desires, though.

A new generation of people from the Wushu school have started appearing at the clubs I go to. It's a bit weird (I tend to look rather different when I go out...), but having more friendly faces to talk to is always a good thing. They spent most of their night on the mezzanine level, playing Soul Calibur on a projection screen, while being facinated/horrified/confused at the Hentai screening next to them.

There were people with cameras. Lots of people with cameras. I tried to evade them by dancing faster than 24 frames a second, but a few suceeded - I'll be scouring the internet for evidence in a week or so. Hiding in plain sight normally works so well at these clubs (all the corners are taken), but not this time...
