Well, that's not a terribly coherent title.

The last fortnight has been a messy one. Since getting my candidature review out of the way, I've been trying to dig my way out from underneath all the work that had been piling up over the last month. I also tried (to limited success) to make up for losing my Easter break, by holding my own breakaway Easter holiday during the middle of a week. I ended up working through most of it, and wondering why I bothered...

aeliel is beginning to get snowed under by her own uni work, for her Masters. I think it's fascinating, and keep interrupting to ask questions about it. I think I should be a bit more patient, and just wait a few more weeks so I can read all the articles myself.

I'm now more-or-less an employee at RMIT, once all the paperwork gets sorted. I've started doing some research assistant work one day per week on a new project, looking at online "virtual safes" and how the law applies to electronic versions of documents: identity documents, ownership documents, etc. My current job involves drafting up an ethics application, as we'll probably need to contact service providers to ask them questions not covered on their websites.

I also have more painting commissions lined up than I can shake a stick at. Being busy is good, but I'm a bit sad about the number of jobs I have to turn down. Still, at least it means that I can keep making a bit of extra income while doing something I enjoy. The mortgage-monster eats most of the normal income in this house, so I need to get creative looking for ways to wrangle a proper holiday around the time of aeliel's 30th, in September :)

I'm beginning to sift through my emails, forum and facebook messages, as I haven't been able to keep on top of anything except the most urgent stuff lately. If you have tried contacting me in the last few weeks, I'm not actually dead!
