Pun-ishment
Jun. 6th, 2004 02:13 pmApparently, it's been a while since I wrote anything here. LJ has been taking about 7-8 attempts to load each page, or post replies, from my home computer - hence my patience for it has rapidly diminished. If anyone can suggest a possible cause for this, please let me know... I miss being able to load pages without constantly having to reload them...
aeliel and I used up the free tickets for The Punisher last week, and I'm glad we didn't hand over any money to see it. As a gratuitously over-the-top comic adaption, it works okay (endles scenes where I just wanted to freeze the image, and stick it straight into a comic book) but on the whole it was far more ordinary than anything I've watched lately.
That's not to say that it was a dead loss, though. There were a few good lines in it -
That's not to say that it was a dead loss, though. There were a few good lines in it -
"He hasn't slept in a week!"...and characters like The Russian, who deserves a prize for Most Creative Attempted Bounty Killing. Not to mention how we amused ourselves on the walk home, by thinking of a list of other international bounty hunters who should have had a part (The Frenchman, murderer-by-mime; The Greek, swarthy man with a muoustache and anchor tatooed on his arm; The Swede, spiky blonde hair and loud "Allo" greeting of doom...)
"How do you know"
"Because I haven't slept in a week/"
"We're running out of Bounty Hunters!"
"What? You have a whole phonebook to choose from!"
"Not using a phonebook - I could only find the atlas. And all the others are politically sensitive minorities, unlikely to appreciate satire."
"Well, just run then. And place a call to that fellow from Lebanon - he's not very precise, but we don't really need that city block any more..."
