I bought the Adobe Creative Suite package, after saving up for it over the past six months! It's so shiny... I'm glad I managed to afford it before my Student Card expires, as I could only just pay for it at 70% off retail.

First thing to do is learning as much as I can about InDesign CS. For anyone out there who is interested in 40k or miniature painting/games, I'll be producing an e-zine called Insurgent over the next month. It'll be a quarterly publication hosted on http://www.wargamerau.com , showcasing some of the cool things that the forums have brought to light (quite literally, for Issue 1 - it has two electronics projects in it, with many small LEDs...). It's also my way of forcing myself to learn more about layout and editing, which can only be a good thing.

After that, I really want to get to grips with Illustrator and Photoshop. My Photoshop knowledge is circa 1996, and they seem to have changed it a tad since then! Illustrator I have used once, loved it, and promptly forgot all about how to use it - so I start this one with zero user knowledge. I just hope their tutorials are friendly...

I'm finally starting to paint again, after a few months off. Apathy is receding, and I have a desk covered in models to work on. I haven't really painted much this week, but I have been sculpting a lot more than usual - something I'm getting better at with practice. It's certainly a lot easier to sculpt 54mm figures than 28mm ones, though. I'm trying to get a few models painted to feature in Insurgent (sculpting/conversion tutorial article), and then I'll see what Ebay can get for them - these are projects I want to finish, but not really things that I need to keep. Fingers crossed, I'll find someone with a large wallet and a small amount of spare time.

I'm still not sure if I'm getting paid properly at work, as my details are jumbled up in the computer system. Not as critical as [livejournal.com profile] submystical's dilemma (at least I'm getting one day's wages each week), but still not great.

In other news, Tai Chi works best in parks. Especially late at night, in warm weather. I might try to get out there before 11:30pm next time, but I'd like to get back into a more regular routine.
