"I am writing to inform you that your enrolment has been cancelled ... As you are no longer a student of the University, please return your student card to the Student Administration office.

If you with to be reinstated as a student, you must immediately apply to your Faculty for permission to enrol. If permission is granted, you will also be required to pay a Reinstatement Fee, currently $100..."

And on it goes.

It's been one of those days for opening mail. I was planning to defer Media for a year, while I did science honours and thought about how much I actually need another piece of paper. I don't think that I can afford to throw a hundred dollars at a course that I probably won't go back to, though - so I guess the decision is now out of my hands. Strangely enough, sorting out a degree that I wouldn't be studying this year wasn't high enough on my to do list - dealings with the uni have mainly involved science, of late, and now I seem to be paying for it.

Brightens my day wonderfully. At least I no longer need to juggle two simultaneous course enrolments, I guess. I'll be talking to Dave next week about the research project, and planning a year of looking at diamonds. Arts can take their paperwork, and insert it somewhere painful. Death by a thousand cuts, with the sharp bits on an envelope...

If anyone tries to make me sign any forms in the next few hours, I swear I will cut off both of their hands...

On a brighter note, I tried to cheer myself up by buying funky blue goggles out of my break-glass-in-case-of-emergency fund. They'll probably take a couple of weeks to arrive, but retail therapy (even in a virtual form) can do wonders.

Meh. Uni. What have tehy ever done for you?

Stupid uni people. *joins the interest group for gathering envelopes to send care of Arts admin staff and decision-makers*
But at least now you can focus on shinies instead, without having to think about other things.
Hooray for shiny things!

And those goggles are just...weird.... and very cool.
I need funds I can put behind emergency glass so I can have retail therapy, too!

Weird they are, but I needed shiny things to cheer me up...

If I survive 'til November, I will have a degree in shiny things, to boot. That makes throwing away a course seem a little easier to take.

why?

Why the swift kick from the uni? In all the mess that happened during the exams/work/Intensicon/everything else part of the year, I missed the reminder to choose subjects for 2004. At the time, I was waiting on word back about Honours, and didn't think to enrol in subjects that I hoped I'd need to pull out of, if I got the course I wanted.

Why am I threatening to cut off hands? I'm sick of paperwork.
Why the goggles? They are shiny, and my resistance is feeble.

If the why is about something else entirely, you'll have to be a bit more precise...

[livejournal.com profile] astro_dust is the ONLY one who is allowed to have googles.

The thing with uni sux.... but then I've always known that uni sux.
Cutting off hands is understandable.

I mean, really... blue goggles with orange robes? It would clash horribly.

Now, if I had metallic blue robes, that would be different...

well if you wore a green cape to go along with orange robes and blue goggles, you could stun all who dare look upon you with your amazing clash of colours.
