All directions at once
Aug. 8th, 2005 05:07 pmIf I called them sleeping patterns, that might place an unfair assumption that there's some sort of order to them. Perhaps it would be easier to say that my sleeping coincidences have been fairly random, of late.
I went to Hell on Friday, but not in that bad way... there were fewer lawyers than I expected, and the hellfire was more like stuffy airconditioning ;-) The music warmed up a little while after
aeliel and I arrived, and I spent almost the whole night on the dancefloor. That's generally a good sign :) Spoke briefly to
sharplittlteeth,
mistresscarlett was missed (next time... next time for sure), and we got home about 4-5am. My ankle held up fairly well, and I'm no longer strapping the joint every morning. Despite repeated attempts to kill the patrons with a smoke machine, we survived the night without too many mishaps.
Saturday morning vanished somewhere (sleep?), and Dylan's Exalted game ran in the afternoon - murder & mystery on a river boat.
This week is looking busy (two weeks' worth of work to finish for unanticipated early deadlines, UniCon meeting tomorrow night, event list to hammer into shape for the online rego system), but there's also plenty to look forward to. Final session of
bishi_wannabe's Weapons of the Gods prelude, which may be reincarnated in some form when the book comes out. New sections of the Wudan Tai Chi form to learn on Thursday. WARMACHINE (high time I started spelling it correctly, in ALL CAPITALS) on Friday. Bike adventure on Sunday.
I've narrowed down my "want to learn" list a little. I think I just need to learn more about editing & publishing, graphic design, writing for professional audiences, PR & marketing, some basic web design stuff, event management, the rest of the Wudan forms, hone my painting and sculpting techniques, and work out how to convince possible employers that yes, I'm not joking when I outline what I can do.
I may never compete with the specialists in any field, but I want to be better across the board than anyone with a narrow focus - I wasn't joking when I said I'd specialise in everything...

Your beauty strikes like a punch out of nowhere
your passion bites and I'm willing to get there
I heed your eyes, your words leave me silent
I'm paralysed
Your look's almost violent
