Circle Oroboros

Now that uni is over, I've had some time to do a bit of painting. I'll be working on two large commissions over the next month or so, but I managed to get some Hordes models painted for myself as well.

These are from Privateer Press' HORDES game - specifically, druids (and associated beasties) from the Circle Oroboros.

I would have had some photos earlier, but something strange has happened to my tin of estapol varnish. It's turned into a super-high-gloss varnish somehow - I suspect I need to stir it more...

So, these have a Vallejo matte coat (to get them to Mind Games safely), a thick coat of (glossy) estapol, and an emergency kill-that-shine coat of Vallejo matte which beaded and ran straight off the models. Apologies for all the shiny patches in these photos... the final coat of varnish just doesn't seem to stick to anything.

I'm now suffering from extreme Painters Envy :) They look great but the varnish does make them look a bit plastic-y in these shots :(
