Orientation Inbound
Feb. 20th, 2004 06:52 pmLooks to be a busy week ahead, even without considering all the running about associated with orientation...
After a brief pause, my labwork is starting back up again now the SEM is ready for use. This should be fun, as I've never used one before - but electron micrograph images of the diamond surfaces will look cool. Not to mention adding to the amount of non-text to add to my thesis, which can hardly be a bad thing...
I think I've had one of those "tying up loose ends" days, which has been great. Wrote letters and emails to people who needed them; went to appointments and organised things; pottered around in a library finding more project information. I slept in a little, but I blame the Painting Bug - it bit me at about 11:30 last night, and I ended up painting until early morning.
We may not be able to find out when the Tai Chi classes will run until next Wednesday, which screws over any chance of getting information pamphlets printed early. I'm looking forward to the orientation stuff, though - even after having already done it for the last six years, I still like the frenetic energy of that first almost-week.
Thursday: Set up information table. Tai Chi Sword and 24 forms, and Meihua Praying Mantis for club demonstration. Talk people into doing something active with their lives. Pack up tables, bypass overcrowded pubs by dragging friends back to my place. Drink beer. Recover from hecticness.
Friday: Set up tables again, continue talking people into trying out this martial arts thing. Pack up tables. Run an Exalted game for new Infinite Images people, to set them upon the True Path of Righteousness...

sharplittlteeth for the CDs - virtual_munkee, I think you might like the track I'm listening to at the moment. When you come back to Melbourne I'll have to play an awful lot of music at you ;-)
