Afraid of libraries?
Mar. 18th, 2004 01:21 pmWell, I'm still at home - and have been for a couple of days, now. There's so much work that needs doing... but it's so hard to get started on it. Must shake this all-encompassing apathy, somehow. Perhaps I could put a bomb under my chair? That might get me moving...
I think I may have developed a library phobia. My last task in the uni on Tuesday involved photocopying more articles - about a dozen of them, from a dozen 1500+ page journals... which I carried across to the mapping room (Honours photocopying account, you see...). Since then, I haven't made it back into the uni. I'm wondering if the thought of hefting 18,000 pages of hardbound journals might be scaring me off a little. Perhaps I should drive a forklift into the foyer, to show that I mean business ;-)
Despite the countless distractions (anyone who has seen my room can testify to the sheer amount of stuff(tm) in there), home seems to be a good place to read things. It may lack the "If-I'm-here-I-should-be-working" guilt trip that the uni has, but it makes up for that in beanbags, pots of vanilla sencha tea, and much better music. Speaking of which...
delphaeus, I found Opeth - Orchid (an older album - from about 1995). Pester me about it and I'll get you a copy :-)
I've also ended up with this song stuck in my head... ( Until The End Of The World )
Anyway... enough rambling. Time to move that beanbag back out into the sun again...
