In other news, my nice new monitor mysteriously stopped working about fifteen minutes ago. It's getting power (I can see it turn on and off), but there's no image from the PC or the image adjustment menu. VGA cable and USB cable both give no results, but an old monitor (with a built in VGA cable) is working fine. It was all working so well, too...
My Mad Scientist project for the week: find out what lego is made of, and how to destroy it :-) *cue evil laugh*
We're building sample racks out of lego at work, so we can easily reconfigure the racks to accommodate unusually-shaped specimens. The blocks look like ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), but the grey base boards aren't affected by an ABS solvent - I'm guessing that they are made of polypropylene. The specimens (and the underlying lego) will be exposed to acids (glacial acetic acid & hydrochloric) and bases (sodium hydroxide) for thousand-hour salt spray tests - before those get underway, I need to find out whether those solutions will damage the lego.
