I should be training tonight. Instead, I'm spending time doing some things I've neglected lately.

I lost my urge to cook a while ago - long before I got sick, although that certainly didn't help me regain it. I've been in subsistence mode as far as food is concerned... I make sure I'm eating enough, but that's a matter of quantity. I make sure I'm eating nutritious food, but that's a matter of components. Every now and again, I manage to forget how much I love cooking, and turning food into meals. I'm in the process of re-remembering it at the moment, and I think that an evening in the kitchen (while thinking about the report I need to write for tomorrow) will do me a world of good.

Tai Chi has been a bit of a write off for the past few weeks, with missed classes all over the place. Unfortunately, I can only get to every second Thursday class - the loudly heralded change to Wednesday nights never eventuated, after I changed everything to fit it in. As a result, I've been slipping further and further behind in the Wudan form. Two classes ago, I arrived to find that I'd missed the end of the form - it's now considered finished, and my group is moving on to other things. I'm doubting whether I should go on Thursdays for the rest of the semester, as it will only remind me of the gap.

I still need more exercise than I'm getting from firetwirling, but I'll be able to get to the Wednesday morning Tai Chi classes at Melbourne uni. Hopefully, someone else in the class will do something Wudan-related... it's nice having a class that I can actually make it to, but I've only gone through forms from two years ago so far. I'm determined to learn that damn form somehow... it brings together aspects I recognise from almost all the styles I've learned over the last few years, and it makes a lot of sense.

I should get my bike out again, while the weather is still good. It's amazing what living on the third and fourth floors of a building will do to your bike-riding motivation... I think I've carried my bike down to the road all of half a dozen times in the last year. Maybe I'll try replacing training with riding, while the training sessions are on inacessible days.
