Time allowance
Feb. 18th, 2008 12:15 amI feel like I've suddenly been given a few extra hours in my day...
I spent most of the day idly contemplating starting a massively addictive online game (no, not that massively addictive game... something much less high-tech) with the intention of letting it slowly develop in the background. Developing resources, building structures and units, that sort of thing. Then I realised how long I'd already spent looking through the game's forums and wiki, and I started seeing forum comments like "you'll need to set up X if you plan to be inactive for more than six hours at a time" and I started having second thoughts about just how well it would stay in the background.
I have enough time-eating hobbies as it is - I think games like Travian are for people who get paid salaries for playing games at work. Still, deciding against getting involved (after trying to clear the spare time to play it in) has left me with some more hours in the day. Hours that I can certainly put to use...
Besides, I need to get all my non-computer projects underway before September 7th. My "spare" hours may have escaped this time around, but I'm fairly certain they won't be so lucky next time.
