I think I've proved my insanity levels, at least to myself. I've now run War Machine demo games from Werirbee to Noble Park, travelling on Public Transport the whole way. That's most of the east-west transect of populated areas... and several hours of my life given over to the Gods of Bus and Train. I seem to be having pretty bad luck finding trains/trams/buses/taxis - maybe it's karma. Who knows, perhaps I drove a 4WD around the city in a past life ;P

I ran some demo games at DWARFcon this afternoon, met a few new people from the WarFoundry forums, and (hopefully) set things in motion that will lead to some regular games happening. A couple of the guys were keen to do the organisation, and I think I can persuade them to get reimbursed for their time - a fortnightly event is virtually no work to organise, but would net them a nice amount of Stuff(tm) if they do it for a few months.

I discovered that the convention venue is indeed serviced by a number of buses. And it had a shuttle bus. However, there were no details on the shuttle bus on their website (so I didn't realise that it only went once per day, and missed it by an hour) and the other bus lines didn't run on Sundays. Oh well... at least I know where Carwatha College is, now. And I know my way around the outskirts of Springvale better than I had thought...

Oh - for anyone interested in their health, there's a life expectancy estimate thingy (link stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kikilon's journal) that might be worth a look. It's all common sense (at least, I hope it's common sense for everyone) - but there are some good links for health-related things in there. Apparently, I'll live to the ripe old age of 89.7 years old... so I may still be kicking on more than a decade after most of my male friends have passed on ;-) Luckily, I'm older than a lot of you though...

Reminds me of when I went to DEFcon, and a year later to the first DWARFcon. The public transport didn't run early/late enough, and most of the time I couldn't get a lift there, so I rode my push bike, overloaded with wargaming paraphernalia through rain and hail the 15 miles or so to get there. The good old days when I wargamed, I'm almost tempted to dust off my miniatures and start playing again.

According to our calculations, you are expected to live to the age of 90.7.

I make an effort to lead a healthy life, however I think my expectancy according to the site would be greater if I ate fish.

80.2 years. A little surprising, considering I don't smoke, or drive, seldom drink, and come from a family of fairly healthy folk. Must be the stress. Who would have guessed.

Looks like you're outliving me. I refuse to believe it though. Besides, i think it's unfair judging me on stuff i'm doing right at the moment that will no longer affect my life in a year, let alone for the rest of my life. I reject the life expectancy test!!! Hear me channel 7, i defy you. I'll show you, I'll live to be 90, and then where will you be, huh, huh? That's right, completely indifferent. mumble, grumble, grouch.
