Now entering that last minute...
Jan. 19th, 2004 07:31 pmOnce again, that pre-con week is here - and typically, I have a huge pile of work to be doing. All the work is technically "play time" though, so I don't really mind the amount of sleep loss that will occur before Friday afternoon... the only problem is that most of the work is painting, which requires a steadier hand than caffeine can provide. The only way I've found for pulling all-nighters is stubborness - gritting my teeth and refusing to acknowledge the fact that it's now daylight again, outside my doorway.
I helped playtest
miss_rynn's game on Sunday night, which was good fun. I've never seen so many bits of post-playtest feedback, though - still, at least it suggests that everyone liked the game. If I loathed a game, I'd probably keep very quiet and slip out early :) I must remember to steal some of those playtesters for the End Times kuei-jin game next easter, though.
Fortunately, I'm not writing any games this time around - just running a warmachine tournament, and helping GM for a couple of people. After ][-con and the 13-hour stint managing 78 players at once, everything else seems so much tamer...
I'm also preparing to wrap up all my commission work (painting, sculpting, etc) in the lead-up to Honours (two weeks and counting). Most of it needs doing by Friday anyway - time to stop finding excuses, and finish it all. Maybe I shouldn't have added those last few jobs into the "to do" pile though...
