Last essay went in yesterday. Not especially happy with it (didn't get to add enough Doom - I must be mellowing out in my old age), but I printed it and posted it off as soon as I'd finished the last paragraph. Out of time, out of motivation. I'd rather write something in more depth when it's not part of an assessment piece. At least I got to reference a bunch of old sci-fi, though.
Ideally, I'd like to spend today shirking responsibility (job1 or job2) and catching up on the two sculpting commissions I need to work on (job3?). Maybe "transferring" responsibility, instead of shirking it. Unfortunately, it looks like far too much effort to get out of work, so in I go again.
The next issue of NWMN News is in production, which I forgot to allow for when I planned out my week. I spent most of yesterday setting the first couple of pages in their shiny new templates. Using InDesign 2.2 was hard enough when I was used to the much shinier CS1. Now I have to compare it to CS2, and I spent most of the day discovering just how many features were missing from the old version.
What did we ever do in the days before we had progress?
I think I'll play with newspaper design for the next few weeks. I'm designing a newspaper for
aeliel's Year 7 English class (they write the articles and a design brief, I build it for them), and I want to mock up some newspaper clippings for
mousebane's game.
