aeliel and I are almost finished packing for the Kosciusko trip. Tent of epic proportions. Food pile of epic proportions. New 1GB card for my camera. Map to futurelegend's house. First aid kit ready for the End Times*.

Once it's all packed into the car, we're heading over to see fetnas and geserit, and to wave goodbye to 2006. It's been a good year, if a bloody hard one. I wrote a lot, learned a lot, and completely changed careers after leaving CSIRO. I might not be any closer to answering the "so, what exactly do you want to do?" questions, but I'm covering a lot of ground while I think about what that answer may be.

Tomorrow morning we head up north and look for mountains to climb. Sounds like a fine way to usher in a new year.
