A plan, of sorts
Mar. 19th, 2004 10:13 pmI've been a slob, this week. Hardly leaving the house, training a grand total of once in the week, and not really having any excuses for my sudden sluggishness. Time for a change, I think.
I called in to the Wushu class as they were finishing tonight, to sort out some tax paperwork for the instructors. Riding home was great - crashing along through uneven naturestrips, jumping the speedbumps, and overtaking cars going down Elgin street, I felt so much more alive than I have lately.
The music is cranked up loud, and I feel like going out. Given the complete lack of notice for gathering fellow nocturnal companions to my side, I think I'll just go to the gardens and work through some forms instead - something, anything, to get moving again. I have new sections to practice, and I (re)discovered just how painful Tai Chi can be, if you keep low, slow-moving stances. If anyone still maintains that it's a cop-out martial art for pensioners, by all means come and practice some forms with me...
Psychonaught is on again next Friday @ Deep 11 (456 Queen Street, opposite the Vic Markets). Entry is only $5 if you arrive before midnight, and they have Covenant tickets on sale with no booking fees (at least, I hope they still have tickets left). Sounds like a plan.
Here's hoping that next week cures all ills, and lots of familiar faces can come along. May the sick ones get better, and the working ones get more considerate shifts. May the hermits come back from the wilderness, and the overstressed come out to unwind. I want company, damn yer eyes ;-)
