As announced at Conquest, Unicon is returning this year. A collection of past and present members of MURP (Monash), Infinite Images (Melbourne Uni) and SFGA (RMIT) are at the helm, and plenty of writers are coming out of the woodwork.

Currently, the organisers are looking for expressions of interest from writers and helpers. You can register your interest online, at http://www.unicon.asn.au/2004/writing.html

Note: I'll be posting this up on [livejournal.com profile] aus_gamers once I double-check how the website is progressing...

I'd volunteer to write if I thought I'd actually get finished by September (the way I'm going, if I finish before Arc next year, it'll be a freaking miracle.)

But I plan to be there, with bells on. Well, not really. Maybe a t-shirt with the picture of a bell. I'm not going to lock myself into anything like what I did at Conquest.

*innocent*

Cool. I'll probably only be able to make some of the con (even though it's a short one...) as my thesis is due a few weeks after it. That may (er, *should*) rule me out from running anything.

Should. I think. I'm pretty sure, at least. Er...

I've found that most games can be written into a runable form in under a month if you've got that kind of pressure on you. If you want everything to be perfect...well that's a different story. That could take forever. Are you a perfectionist?

No, I'm a slacker. Which means that I should be able to get something written for Arc. SHOULD.

But as it stands, I've managed to recruit about six people to come and RP at Dwarfcon. People who don't normally RP at cons. One name should be familiar to [livejournal.com profile] morsla at least. Cameron C....s. The guy who won the Best General award at Conquest.

There's a good chance I'll be at Dwarf, for one day, possibly two.

Woo!

And I meant Arc, not Conquest. I really need to stop confusing the two of them.

I think the longest I've ever spent writing a game is about six weeks. That was a Ravenloft freeform I ran at Arc last year. Redemption took me about two and a half weeks and yes, I put a huge amount of detail into my games, but it looks like it's going to run really well for Dwarfcon.

I can't really recall all of my game writing times, but
I think The Crucible, the Arc Ravenloft game was written vaguely in a few days, then more detail in the two nights before. I hate leaving in till the last minute, but I tend to do it.

Last minute

Yeah, I'm still annoyed I didn't get to play that, but I was running Autumn Harvest that session. And yeah, I know what you mean about leaving things to the last minute. Redemption is the first game I've written where it's been ready to go several months in advance.
