It begins!
Dec. 22nd, 2003 05:40 pmFor some reason, if I get any mail at all, I get a lot of it at once. I think the post office are saving it all up, and only delivering it every second day... odd house numbers one day, even numbers the next...
* Letter 1: Honours information. I got in! Whoo! I know, I'll rue the day I ever applied, in about six months' time, but I have two possible directions for a project, both of which sound interesting. Both involve diamonds, or diamond-bearing source rocks... my quest to gain a degree in Shiny Things progresses nicely...
* Letter 2: Writing folio comes back, with cryptic comments. Not much on the five articles, except for things crossed out (I cringed to see how often I use the word "however" in the piece written in the greatest hurry). The Opinion/Editorial article I wrote on the shift in focus from MUSA (sports association) had a few words down the bottom - a suggestion that I should try to get it published. Very flattering, but I'm not so sure (even for Farrago) - a lot of that was written very candidly, with information not openly available.
* Huge stack'o'bills. Well, something had to spoil it, I guess.
I spent today at home, instead of at work. There's not much that needs doing at work, so I don't really mind using up some of my holidays early - instead, I sat inside and and painted, working my "other job." I've put a lot of hours into the current commission job, since yesterday - it's coming along well.
Mainly excited about the Honours letter, though... now I can finally make a plan or two for next year.
