This week will be pretty hectic, as I try to juggle work, the next part of my project, and getting ready to spend next week up in Canberra. There's a huge pile of Stuff(tm) that has to be done, and I know I'll be flinging myself into it as soon as I wake up tomorrow.

Maybe that's why the weekend has been so relaxing, though. Coming back from three days at my parents' house, I think I've had the most relaxing weekend in ages. It's been great - I haven't spent this long lazing around in years... :-)

We got a few things done, though. I managed to cook for my parents - something I haven't done in ages, but I really enjoy . It's great being able to cook something completely new, for people who've been in the restaurant industry for decades. I think I want a hybrid of my own kitchen (it has the spices I like to cook with) and my parents' (it has plenty of shiny new equipment to play with).

For the roleplayers out there, expect to see a steampunk freeform at Arcanacon next January. [livejournal.com profile] aeliel and I have spent a few days writing a framework for it, and I'm getting all enthusiastic already... I'll be posting up ideas and plans as each stage is written. Currently, the game is set during a festival for the Godess Cyriss, Maiden of Gears. There are 25 characters all up, from several parts of the Iron Kingdoms - Inventors and their patrons; chronomancers; mercenaries and exiles; spies; merchants; nobility...
