Well, I seem to have identified the fact that I'm not happy with how I'm doing, on a pretty fundamental level. I need some changes - while I've changed a lot, I still need to do more. I'm getting stricter on myself...

Unicon: Booklets complete. Rego forms and flyers complete. I'm done.

War Machine: There will be a fortnightly games event (weeknight) happening in Absolute Games (South Caulfield), and a monthly tournament (weekend). More people are now playing the game. I'm explicitly not having anything to do with the organisation, now that I've poked people into action. Again, I'm done here.

Tai Chi: Still need to check with committee, to see that they are organised enough to handle semester 2. If anyone so much as jokes about dropping work in my lap, I will stop training there until the end of the year. Yes, I'm serious. I can train elsewhere, where people organise their own lives.

Games: Four sessions of Places Between remain. Two ongoing fortnightly games. Nothing else til the end of the year.

Work#1: Will be trying to arrange things this Friday. Hopefully I can work from home, and put those hours of travel into something productive.

Painting and sculpting (Work#2): Cancelled one job. Completed five more. Not taking any more contracts this year.

Hey just wondering; did my Flat City serial influence the Places Between campaign in any way? I noticed some slight similarities...

A little - I'd already written a lot of the setting (it follows on from an ealier game in Melbourne), but I liked the idea of having the characters search for someone. The three girls aren't exactly professionals, though - they got wrapped up in the case more by accident than design.

It's been a good vehicle for exploring the city so far. The current game is a little five-session cycle, aimed at fleshing out the background - after it has a bit more life to it, I'll be running some one-session "short stories" using the same setting.

*re-reads Flat City...*

Hmmm... I'd forgotten that Jake was originally hired to find a daughter. I thought I was borrowing that one from a film ;-) I'm fairly sure we won't have the same ending, though...
