From last night's session. We're two sessions into the game, now, and each of the characters has started to settle in a bit more. Kay has turned out to be quite the loner, leaving the others behind when the mood takes her; Siobhan is having trouble integrating herself into the modern world, but manages to remain cheerful throughout it all. Bryanna is the newest to the group, and has joined the other two in their search...

A few of the others encountered thus far:

Alex Yannis is an event promoter who heard Siobhan busking on the street... and promptly turned the opportunity into a tidy profit. Siobhan took her flute to a dance party held in a crater that will soon become the foundations for a new city block, and found that she had more in common with the electronic age than she had thought. She's now more widely recognised as one of the city's Arcane (especially in the district of Tunnel), which led to her next meeting...

Graham Nar is an ageing businessman who approached Siobhan with a different kind of job. His daughter, Istacia, is another of the Arcane - but she failed to turn up to a meeting she had requested, and has not been seen since. Graham is not Arcane, and has little knowledge of their community - so he grasps at straws, turning to the first high-profile adept that he can find. He has provided the girls with some cash (and the promise of more), and his approximation of a missing person's file. The file is largely useless, but some leads - her address, her friends - have given them a starting point.

Trying out the speed-dials on Istacia's phone, the girls discovered David Roman - a friend of Istacia's from their time at uni. They followed him home, only to interrupt his violent abduction at the hands of some form of sorcerous construct. Great piles of earth had been torn from his front garden and formed into a hulking humanoid shape - a creature that siezed David, and was busily dragging him through the back wall when the girls acted. Siobhan's illusions fooled the creature for a moment, as Bry grabbed the unconscious man.

Not wanting to take David to a hospital, Bry suggested they try a contact of hers in the city. Kay stole a car, and the four sped down to meet Surgeon in the Flinders Street Vaults. Surgeon is a brawny, bearded man who doesn't seem to sleep - he lives in his tattoo parlour by the river. He earned his nickname from his talent for healing - an Arcane touch that has earned him many favours in the nightly conflict of Street.

By this stage the group had been awake through most of the night, and they returned to Siobhan's "house" to collect their thoughts. The house is a backpacker's hostel on Lonsdale street, and has seen more than its share of unusual events over the years. A sizeble proportion of Melbourne's Arcane have sheltered there at some point in their youth, and keep a protective eye on the owner, Agnes Wey. Agnes is a kindly woman in her late sixties, and has run the hostel for four decades. She accepts any guest that her cats approve of, and bakes compulsively for her lodgers...

In the morning, David was gone - unseen by anyone watching the doors. Feeling a little out of her depth, Kay has made attempts to find a professional investigator to take on Graham's case. She returned home to sleep, while the two others explored the stormwater drain behind David's house in an attempt to find out more about the creature they had confronted the night before.
