I'm wired into a computer in the Earthsci building, in more ways than one. Cords and cables cover the desk; my ears are connected to the CD player by headphones. While sifting through trace element data, I'm keeping an eye on work, uni, and private email; my phone is letting me know that I have messages. (Hi [livejournal.com profile] virtual_munkee :) ). If I was at home, there would be a few forums running in the background too. It's heached a critical mass now - by the time I've finished reading or writing one piece of information, there are enough options that there will always be something else to answer, or something else to ask. I know where most of my "spare" time has gone this year...

When did I start needing to keep in touch with so many people? I still like disappearing off into the hills from time to time, but when I'm back in the city I slot myself back into that web without even thinking. Slip back into the warm embrace of all those extended communications, as you begin to have difficulty understanding how people could live without talking to hundreds of people each day...

I know how you feel - I'm currently going spare at rpg.net being down, which generally keeps me fairly busy all day (if anyone's curious as to why session reports or Sidereal NPCs don't go up on given days, it's because there's super-interesting talk over at rpg.net).

ditto here, but change two weeks to seven.

Argh! Only seven weeks! My overactive stress-management system makes me forget about it... only to have the deadline surprise me all over again the next day.

Honours presentations are on the 28th and 29th - I hope I know what the numbers all mean by then. VUESC is on the 27th, which makes things a bit tricky... I'm presenting on the 28th, so I won't have much time to get ready.

I'm getting stuck into working on it, starting yesterday. Will be at CSIRO tomorrow daytime, though - apparently I have an unofficial job interview over lunch, for a position I haven't applied for. Weird...

lunch eh?
