The real reason why I like the internet
Feb. 26th, 2010 01:03 amBecause no matter how unrelentingly shit your day, week or year has been, some distant corner of the net will contain a thing that is bound to cheer you up a little.
For some people, it's kitten pictures. For me, it's often a case of finding music I haven't heard before. Instead of sleeping, tonight I've been trying to brute-force my way into a happier state of mind by applying music.
I've been listening to songs from Front 242's Happiness release, from back in 1996. The Prodigy's remix of Religion has gone a long way to improving my evening so far.
Now, if I could remember how to fall asleep again, I'm sure things will start to get better.

Some I don't like, but some I love.
And then it even gives me free downloads of things I might like. That last link just takes you to the free downloads page. When I'm logged in, I get a feed of free music that it thinks I might like.
Excellent!
