May. 13th, 2005 03:28 pmIt's definitely Autumn now - the mornings feel like winter, but the sun still feels warm. Sure, Melbourne's coldest is hardly "cold" compared to many parts of the world, but that's fine by me... I like our version of cold weather. For some reason, I spend more time outside in the cooler months. Much of that time has been spent in parks: firetwirling, practicing my forms, or wandering around with a camera. Sometime soon, I think I'll take my camera for a walk again - some of last year's pictures are on my Pbase site.
Years ago,
virtual_munkee and I firetwirled during winter at the Carlton Gardens. Rain is a problem, but the cool weather makes for a much reduced chance of burning parkland to the ground. It's been about a year since I played with a lit firestaff, and the cravings are back.
I live next to a different park now, and it's not as pleasant after dark - screaming arguments from the housing commission block seem to be a tradition. I still want to be outside, though... my body is rebelling against the office air.
In other news: can anyone recommend a good dentist around North Melbourne? An aching jaw and the feeling of sharp teeth below the gumline suggest that my long-feared wisdom teeth (badly impacted..) have finally started to arrive. I don't feel so wise though... it has been many, many years since I last saw a dentist. Preference given to dentists with a high tolerance for idiots who ignored their last set of x-rays...

Laid to the river
Midsummer, I waved
A āVā of black swans
On with hope to the grave
And through Red September
With skies fire-paved
I begged you appear
Like a thorn for the holy ones
