So, it hasn't been a great week. Nothing particularly wrong, in any earth-shattering sense - I've just been stuck in a rut, and generally missing all the people I seem to be losing contact with.

Today's been somewhere close to the polar opposite of yesterday, in that I've actually done a lot of things that needed doing. I walked in to the city and back, did some shopping, and generally ran errands. I speed-read a novel (not the most challenging of books, but interesting nonetheless) in just over two hours (~450 pages), which seems to be about the perfect amount of time to spend on werewolf fiction. Any longer and you feel insulted when the author takes cheesy genre shortcuts, while reading any faster would make my eyes bleed when I crossed the fifteen-seconds-per-page mark.

I also contacted a community newspaper group, and volunteered my services as a jack of all trades and master of none. I need experience in just about everything, and have put my hand up for any work they have going - layout, design, editing, writing, etc. As much as I love the publishing and event management side of gaming, it's getting tiresome having to explain/justify any weird-sounding experience that I have, every time I write a job application.

I took a break from sculpting today, as I've sculpted almost every day in the last week. I actually have a small muscle sticking out the back of my hand... it seems to have no purpose in life outside of shaping putty. I undercoated another batch of models, and should finish all ten tomorrow. There's a 40k tournament on next weekend, and I'm almost halfway through scratch-building some models for it. I might end up cutting it a bit fine, but the actual painting I can do in my sleep.

Speaking of which, there hasn't been much of that lately. I've been waking up very suddenly for the last couple of days, right on 5am. No idea what's causing it, although new neighbours are a possibility - all I know is that one moment I'm sound asleep, and the next moment I'm sitting up wondering why it's still so dark outside. I generally don't get back to sleep again afterwards. If it is a neighbour's alarm, I will skin them and turn them into a hat...
