Pirates of the Caribbean
- screening as part of the Moonlight Cinema program in the Botannic Gardens, on March 9th.
The Plan: Fill the gardens with pirates. Yaaargh!
Beanbag-boarding actions! Walking the plank! Large numbers of people making Yaaarrggh sounds, wearing eyepatches and puffy shirts!
Plenty of people at Arcanacon were interested in joining in - let's make it the biggest bunch of pirates ever seen in the Botannic Gardens :-)
Moonlight Cinema information: Try their website - http://www.moonlight.com.au/
--> Film starts at sunset, but get there by 7pm to get a spot on the lawn
--> I believe they have a BYO licence, as the place is generally full of Chardonnay-sipping picnickers...
--> Gates open at 7pm, but the queue starts well before that. We'll try to organise a scouting party to pick up non-Concession tickets, at about 6pm.
--> Bring a cushion and some insect repellent. If you bring a chair, you'll have to sit way down the back to avoid blocking other peoples' views.
Tickets: To avoid waiting in a huge queue on the night, online bookings or a group booking are the best way to go.

- Online booking: Booking fee of $3 per ticket applies, but this only works out about $1 more than the "booking office" prices.
Ticket prices (including the booking fee) are:
Adult $15.50
Concession $12
Note that all people buying concession tickets need to show the staff their concession ID, or they will not hand over the tickets.
- Group booking:
Contact address for organising large (20+) groups: frontdoor@moonprojects.com
--> Cheaper, at $11 ($8 + booking fee) per person
--> I can organise this, if I know how many people are going. Let me know!
If you want to join in on a group booking, this must be finalised by Friday, February 25th.

Date: 2005-02-03 06:10 am (UTC)If the money burns a hole in your pocket, spent the cash on new and interesting food in vietnam, and tell me what it tastes like - I can at least enjoy foreign places vicariously...

Date: 2005-02-03 06:44 am (UTC)That's a definite reservup for myself and Nicolai (who I believe already reservupped to Louise), and tentative reservups also for Amanda and Mikeee - they'll confirm before Feb 25.
Mind if I point to this from my own LJ, for the benifit of people not on your FList?

Date: 2005-02-03 10:19 am (UTC)I'm a bit reluctant to make the rum the main focus though, 'cause if we do a group booking my credit card is responsible for all the people we bring...
But yes, I'm pretty sure we can bring a bit of rum along :)
Feel free to post it on your journal... I'm planning to organise a group booking, but people are welcome to join in if they let me know they're coming ;)

Date: 2005-02-06 11:21 pm (UTC)I'd like to keep my ticket-booking to one or two degrees of seperation, though. If any big groups would like to join in, they should probably make their own ticket bookings - you only need 20 to qualify for the discount.

Date: 2005-02-07 10:26 am (UTC)On the down-side: it turns out I have an excursion for my course that evening, so unless something changes there I ain't going to be making it. **sulks** Please cancel my ticket - though not Nicolai's, he's still coming.
Ah well. hope you have a fantastic time, anyway!
P.S. Please add two more tickets to the group - my friends Andrew and Katherine reservupped to me, they're definitely in.
