Yaarrrgh!

Thirty-odd pirates headed into the Botannic Gardens last night for the Pirates of the Caribbean screening, gaining many strange looks from the more mundane audience members. 'twas a sight to warm the cockles of me 'eart, and I do be thinking we'll return next year. More pirates are called for (we were sorely outnumbered, but Yaaarrggh-ed bravely in the face of overwhelmingly lame NOVA-FM pre-film commentary), more RUM be needed, but a good night was had by all.

Plans for next year:
- Multiple beanbag/blanket fleets, so we can stage boarding actions.
- RUM
- A plank. If the NOVA-folk won't walk it, I'll beat them with it.
- RUM

I probably won't be doing the group-booking thing again. From 24 tickets, ten people cancelled on the day of the film... luckily, we found new homes for those tickets. All the same, a little more organisation would be nice.

Who wants to make Pirates into a tradition? It'll be back in the gardens next summer, and we'll be waiting for it...

I fin, that for group bookings it's better to collect the money first, to save yourself the damgers of being out of pocket.

I would have liked to have made it, but I had a pri-arr engangement. Hope I can be there next year!

True - I'll definitely be doing that if I make another group booking. I couldn't (easily) do it this time though, as some of the people I hadn't seen in twelve months :)

I forgot about sequels. I think I'll fall into a quivering heap of anticipatory pleasure. Pirates, so many pirates. Squee.
We'll have to come up with call backs for next years screening.

I've been keeping tabs on who is in the sequels and some ideas about the plot. I think I know what the subtitle (ie. Curse of the Black Pearl) which was released recently. I'mb being vague on purpose here just in case you don't want to know the above details....

Circus sounded very cool, though :) I want to see Cirque de Soleil live one day - the last acts I've seen were Circus Oz and an opera/acrobatics/insanity troupe in Beijing.
