I'm spending the day bundled up at home, with a vat of honey, lemon & ginger tea to fight off a cold. I'm determined to be back at work by tomorrow - I hate being sick. However, I did get to finish a trophy for the "Battle of the Ditch" Warhammer 40k event: at every tournament with New Zealand and Australian players, one evening is devoted to a beer-fueled grudge match. New Zealand have won all the events so far, so this will be heading over the waters when the trophy base is finished.

I've never painted a model quite this big (it's roughly the size of the photo) with this much detail before. I'd like to paint more of them in future though...

Edited to add:

Hey dude! Fantastic work. I always did envy your painting and modelling abilities. Maybe I should enter the tourney, see if I can help keep this little gem in the country....

Nifty.

Everybody realises this sort of thing is why I get Ben to do my WarMachine stuff, right?

:) And one day, I'll actually finish the cygnar models...

I'm still planning to re-paint all the warjacks in the quartered blue/bone colour scheme, once I work out how to use the vallejo bone colours. The Arcanacard double-discount thingy is on this Sunday - I'm planning to get a blister pack of Stormsmiths, to add to the lighting storm.

If you want to get anything else (Hunter, Centurion, etc) that'd be a good time to do it - 20% off makes the Oz retail prices actually worthwhile.

Hmm...I'll think about it. The main problem is that I've spent a GREAT DEAL of money on RPG paraphenalia over the past couple of weeks :)

When does WotG come out?

Supposedly before ORIGINS, but the developer is now completely gun-shy about release dates.

OTOH I might see about getting some WotG stuff happening before hand, we'll see.

Hopefully, by mid-year (in the next few months). When it does, I have all sorts of games planned - plus, I can properly lay out Snow and Thunder, and acrobat-ify it.

Thankyou :)

It's been sitting unpainted on my desk for a week or two, leering at me in a spiky-kinda way. Now it leers in a much more menacing fashion...

the tendon-y head bit is completely gruesome. :)

it would be great to do some painting with you one day and maybe learn a trick or two if you into painting with company.

Sure - any painting is good painting :)

That head is pretty gruesome. I used red ink to get a glossy look to it, and it looks unhealthily alive. The eyes follow you around the room.
