Bloodied, but unbroken, I shake my payslip in defiance. Bane of Bureaucracy, Scourge of the Scarlet Tape, I scatter paperwork before me...

Phew. Although the back-payment won't happen until the end of the month, and a hefty chunk will be grabbed by the ATO, I should finally be getting paid for the past two months of work. Quite nice to know, as it means that I can pay my bills a little further into the year. If bureaucracy were a beast, I should like its head on a plate - an apple stuffed into each of its many mouths. However, I fear that there is no plate big enough...

'tis the season to catch up with friends, both old and new. kikilon dropped by for dinner last night (I prefer "invented at" to "cooked for" as I think its a more accurate description), and I'll see tarleon et al for his game tonight. It should get me out of the house for a while, and provide another handy distraction from the Arcanacon preparation that's buzzing at the moment...
