Dec. 2nd, 2005 03:41 pmMuch steampunk geeking has been happening this week.
Wednesday night was the first session of my Iron Kingdoms two-shot, which I enjoyed running. It may have taken us a couple of hours to get started, but it was a good bunch of people to have around a table... the group spent most of their time bickering amongst themselves as the Royal Society expedition attempted to find their way into the depths of Troll Country.
mousebane joins in next session, and they'll find out just why the wildlife has been acting so strangely...
Yesterday I tried painting, but the weather was hot enough to dry most of my paint on the brush. I've just finished six more Cygnarans for
bishi_wannabe... only about 20 models left until I can start work on Lon's huge pile of stuff. By that stage, he may have even unpacked enough to find all the miniatures :) On a less overcast day I should take some new photos for my Pbase gallery. It's looking a bit dated in some areas, and I'd like to use it as a folio for finding commission work next year.
Now I'm looking outside at the river my street has become, and thinking about heading in to Mind Games tonight. It's the final Warmachine game for 2005, and it'll be my 26th demo/tournament for the year as well. I've only actually logged my January events so far, so I have 24 things to register on the Privateer site. On the plus side, after I finally get all the data in there I shouldn't have to worry about finding cash for purchasing models for a while.
I'd like to go out tonight (I have far too much energy after sitting at a desk all day. Cabaret Nocturne have Snog playing a set, and a few good DJs as well... Cab Noc has been universally terrible whenever I've been, though - apathetic crowd, empty dancefloor(s), etc. I think the last time I went was for Traum:Fabrik, which had all the worst trappings of a goth club with none of the perks. Tonight's lineup looks awfully good, but I'm reluctant to gamble $15 on it without knowing a few other people who'll be going... it's always a better night spent with company. Can I drag anyone out for the night?
