I almost made it through the weekend intact... but I've managed to come down with a cold at the last possible moment.
It's been a busy few days.
aeliel and I went to Beth and
marshall_1977's wedding on Thursday, which was lovely. We managed to guesstimate the travel time almost perfectly, arriving at the reception place with a couple of minutes to spare. Poet's Lane is a great place to have a wedding. I guess it's right in Victoria's reception-and-devonshire-tea capital, though, so competition is fierce - if they weren't fantastic, the many neighbouring competitors would eat them alive... We caught up with the lucky couple, and various other friends from the distant and not-so-distant past. I thought about trying to track down
submystical while we were in Olinda, but by the time we left it was very dark, cold and foggy... so we decided to call it a night.
Got lots of work done on Friday, and then decided against heading out to Nemesis at about 11:30pm - it was far too nice indoors, and far too cold outside :) Saturday involved wasting a few hours while stuck in traffic, and eventually making it down to Luke and Teri's engagement party. Another chance to catch up with people I don't see often enough... including a few people I haven't seen for about ten years. Apparently, I "haven't changed a bit." You know, apart from the long hair, and any other obvious changes...
We stayed at my parents' place on Saturday night, and slept in late on Sunday (it's turning into a habit). Headed back into the city and dropped in on my sister's birthday soccer match (a tradition that followed her even when she was travelling around the world). We bailed out before dinner arrived, and headed home to recover from the weekend. Apparently we need to work on this recovery thing, as we're both in various stages of being sick.
I want to have some basic bits of the website up by Saturday (I'll be promoting it at a tournament), and also need to finish painting some figures for Ian by the weekend. Combined with all the other jobs that need finishing, I don't think I have time to stay sick this week.
