I have the attention span of a gnat. Last night, as I searched through the vast expanse of photoshop tutorials, I came across a few that caught my eye. Not at all related to any of the current projects, but they're so much fun to play with :)

I built two planets, from circles on a black background. The second one is a bit too crisp for my liking, but I'm yet to find the settings that can do what I wanted to (adding an ice cap, etc). I played with adding some atmosphere to the first one with a glow/dropshadow effect. [livejournal.com profile] bishi_wannabe - want some planet illustrations for the eventual write-up of Transcendent? These things are fun to make.

In other news... I need final numbers for Pirates in the Botannic Gardens by Thursday night. I'll post up a list this afternoon, with all the RSVPs that I've recieved on this journal.

They look really cool. I've never really played around with Photoshop that much. Just another one of many things which I could learn how to do and fiddle with on computers. There are just so many different things though so I end up being overwhelmed by the choices and do nothing instead... generally going and playing computer games or worse sitting and reading LiveJournal.

Why is LJ worse than computer games? Both can suck away spare time equally well ;)

My discovery for today's lunchbreak is Custom Brushes (taking pictures and turning them into brush/pen tools to draw and stamp with). I haven't used Photoshop much since a brief look at it in '95, but it seems to be a bottomless resource of Interesting Stuff (tm)...

Well when there aren't many new posts staring at the ones which have been there for the past few hours doesn't do much. It's like trying to watch grass grow but perhaps with more pronounced changes when something does change.

Fair enough... I know that feeling. If you run out of friends-page stuff, though, there are more LJ-communities out there than you could poke a forest of sticks at. Lots of spam, but there are a few with really good content.

I'd keep writing so you have something to read, but I'm just about to leave work... :) [livejournal.com profile] miss_rynn's game is running tonight, and I need to go shopping for dinner (and beer) beforehand. Beer in a D&D game - hmmm, maybe we should have pretzels too, to really fit a cliche.

Thanks :)

Botannic Gardens, Wednesday March 9th - the gates open at 7pm, but the line will probably start before that. We're planning to bypass the queue-waiting by making a group booking (cheaper, too) and sending in the scouts early on, to reserve a good spot for those arriving from work.

Original post is here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/morsla/53869.html

Do you want to jump in on the group booking? Tickets work out at $11 each, that way. I'll be emailing them on Friday, with the numbers. I think Adam is also organising a booking for his legion of pirates-in-arms...

Planets are super cool!

Transcendent has a lot of scope for really odd planets out near the Wyld, so I'll take anything that comes of the Morsla production line :)
